And justice for all . . .

. . . für Deutschland, that is—

LIVE IT. LOVE IT. LEARN IT.

We at SFD love movies as much as you do. Accordingly, being just back from a thrilling Berlinale ’07 we’re feeling freakinglish excited about the upcoming Oscar’s night.

And the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung just informed us, that Ulf Poschardt wrote in Vanity Fair Deutschland – wait, that was Anthony Lane in Condé Nast’s high-brow flagship The New Yorker??! Okay, Mr Lane wrote (transl. Karin Laub):

Wenn es irgendeine Gerechtigkeit gibt, dann wird der diesjährige Oscar für den besten fremdsprachigen Film an ,Das Leben der anderen’ gehen, einen Film über eine Welt, in der es keine Gerechtigkeit gibt.

In the words of the later Metallica, err, David Lynch: “It’s a funny world.”
